School Counselor
St. Martin’s strongly believes in teaching and nurturing the whole child – their mind, body, and spirit. Our school counselor helps the students navigate through various situations that may come up in school or at home, such as, friendship issues, stress and anxiety, classroom behavior, and family changes. Every classroom has an envelope with slips in it that students can fill out to see the counselor. Teachers and parents may also request the counselor meet with a student. In addition to individual meetings with students, our counselor does “fun lunches” and monthly classroom lessons. A “fun lunch” is a small group of students come to discuss certain topics or create closer bonds with other students. During the monthly lessons, the counselor teaches about character topics, such as, kindness, cooperation, and responsibility.
